Baseball Season (Finally) Over

Well, after a LONG summer, we are now into October playoff baseball (Go Brewers!). With that, our fantasy baseball season ended. Congratulations to Manny's Dreadlocks who knocked off Keyser Soze, who had been the only team to win the event in the past. Congratulations!

Also, we are down to just two events remaining and Team Manciero has opened up a sizeable lead at the top of the leaderboard with a large pack in tight contention behind him. For those of you that still haven't paid, please send in that money so I can pay people out promptly when we wrap up for the year.

Becoming A Runaway?

What a crazy ending to the Indy 500! You have to feel for the kid wrecking on the last turn, but what a great story Dan Wheldon is coming back and winning without even having a full-time ride. Wheldon kissing the bricks means that Team Manciero gets another boost.

Already at the top of the standings, he has opened a healthy lead through three events with a crazy 30 points. The field is going to have to start making up some points.

NBA Playoffs Results

Well, the NBA Playoffs may not be over, but our event is. Congratulations to A-Fraud for his win running away from the field. He was one of only two to get one of the finals teams correct (along with Chapel Hill Rainmakers who took second) and was the only one that can earn more points if Miami wins it all. Great job!

Also, looking at the early overall standings, a small pack of three has separated at the top with a pretty tight rest of the pack. Next point update comes with the Indy 500 this weekend!

First off, congratulations to Manny's Dreadlocks for taking home the final event winning the College Bowl Pick 'Em. As he pointed out that day, the Rose Bowl was the big game in this one as he and runner-up Keyser Soze had different picks. TCU beating Wisconsin gave Manny's Dreadlocks the edge to take the prize home.

Auburn's field goal to win the national title last night also signaled the end of the second Fantasy Heptathlon. A big congratulations to Serenity Now! for taking home his first overall win. After a rough first campaign, he was able to close the rest of the field out going away. The fight for the rest of the cash was much closer with Orlando Mendez-Valdez, narrowly edging out Keyser Soze and Team Manciero for second place.

To all winners, please let me know where you want a check sent. For those that still owe me PAY UP!

Last bit of business... as long as the interest is there, I will bring the Heptathlon back for a third installment. A few games will be revised, I'm sure, but we'll be back down to our original seven events and I am predicting a buy-in of $75.

Please let me know EITHER WAY if you will or will not be back next year so we can work on filling the field. Also, if I owe you money, I can hold on to that and apply it to your next entry.
